The royals are nothing more than glorified dole bludgers

OPINION: I'm sick of the royals.

Kate photographed naked while on honeymoon, Kate's prank phone call in hospital, Kate's baby bump snapped on the beach.

I just don't care.

I realise these are horrific invasions of privacy - God knows if I decided to walk around naked and someone photographed me, I would be fairly mortified.

But then, if I was famous and felt it was a likelihood that it would happen, I wouldn't walk around naked or show off my baby bump down at the beach.

Don't the royals have a private pool?

And what makes them so special anyway?

A coincidence of birth, that's all.

I'm over it - these people have not achieved anything so special that it is worthy of the publicity and attention given to them.

Not to mention they live on the public dime - really they are nothing more than glorified dole bludgers.

I think comedian Russell Brand said it best - the Queen is just a little old lady wearing funny little hats that the British people bought for her.

As far as I'm concerned, the paparazzi can lay down their cameras now because if I read another word about the royal couple, or see another photo that is lamented as an obscene invasion of privacy, I'm going to scream.

Some of you might gasp and say that Kate's a lovely girl and William seems amiable enough.

And that roguish Harry, who walks around nude in Las Vegas hotel rooms and expects not to be photographed who is perhaps something of a war hero - isn't he worthy of our attention?

I'm sorry - no he is not.

I'd rather know more about the Australian solders who are risking their lives every day than read about how Harry dressed up like a Nazi before heading off to Afghanistan.

He sounds like a bit of a problem child - I'd send him off to Afghanistan too if I were the Queen.

And how about Prince Charles and Camilla?

Both adulterers, neither worthy of public attention.

About the only royal I have had any sympathy for was Diana, who seemed rather overwhelmed by it all - and let's face it, who wouldn't be?
