Jo-Ann Miller to take her seat on backbench

DISGRACED Bundamba MP Jo-Ann Miller's spectacular fall from grace will be complete tomorrow when she takes her seat on the backbench.

It will be one of the first times the controversial MP has sat on the backbench during her chequered political career.

The Queensland Times contacted Ms Miller ahead of the new parliamentary year which starts tomorrow for comment on a matter. But she was in no mood for comment.

"I have nothing to say, or do not talk to, the Queensland Times," she said.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk sensationally sacked Ms Miller from her Cabinet during the final sitting week of 2015 after the ethics committee ruled she had acted recklessly in her role.

The committee further found the former police minister's behaviour was not of the standard expected of a minister. Ms Miller ended up falling on her sword and resigning from Cabinet after her position became untenable.

Speculation on her political future ran rife during the summer break after the QT revealed faceless union bosses were positioning candidates to take over her seat should she pull the pin on her political career.

It remains to be seen whether she will contest the next state election, although the QT understands Ms Miller has told friends she intends to fight her way back into the ministry.

Ms Miller was never far away from headlines last year after she bounced from scandal to scandal - putting a vast majority of her colleagues offside in the process.
