Police shoot dogs in Brisbane

POLICE say they had no choice but to shoot two dogs at a Brisbane home where a man was savagely attacked on the weekend.

About 11.10am Sunday, police were called to a home at St James St where they found an injured man bleeding and unable to move.

The officers used their capsicum spray in at attempt to subdue the dogs but when one continued to attack the injured man, the dogs were shot dead.

The 47-year-old victim was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he was treated for puncture wounds to his arms, legs and face.
