Police hunt Marcoola armed car hijacker

POLICE are searching for a man who robbed a woman and stole her vehicle in Marcoola on Saturday afternoon.

About 5.40pm, police received reports that a man had attempted to enter a vehicle on David Low Way at Marcoola.

Upon noticing the man was armed with a knife, the female driver left the scene before he entered the vehicle.

A short time later, the man approached another vehicle and robbed the female driver.

He fled the scene in her car after also taking her wallet and mobile phone.

Police later the vehicle abandoned in Coolibah Street in Mudjimba around 7pm.

No one was physically injured as a result of the incident.

Investigations are continuing.
