Police halt probe in stabbing case
POLICE will not conduct further investigations into an incident that resulted in a 27-year-old man receiving stab wounds on Monday night.
The man drove to a relative's house at Redbank Plains for help after an altercation by the side of the Warrego Hwy at Hatton Vale left him with wounds to his chest, arm and hand.
One of the wounds was described as an eight to 10cm cut to the wrist.
He was taken by ambulance from the house at Redbank Plains to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he received treatment for what were later described as non-life-threatening stab wounds.
Police from the Child Protection and Investigation Unit were called to investigate, after it emerged the man had been in a vehicle with two girls aged 15 and one girl aged 16 just before he received the injuries.
All occupants of the vehicle were interviewed and versions of events taken.
Police said there were no other witnesses to what occurred.
Detectives in charge of the investigation confirmed yesterday that no official complaint had been made from any of those involved, and they would not pursue the matter further.
