Police charge 17-year-old man over gang attack near station

POLICE have charged a 17-year-old Laidley man after an assault in Bundamba last week.

Police allege before 2am last Thursday, a 19 year old Daisy Hill man was walking from a railway station in Bundamba when he was approached by a number of men.

The group assaulted him, stole his wallet and a electronic equipment.

He was taken to Ipswich Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Laidley man has been charged with robbery with violence will appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court today.

A 15-year-old Caboolture boy was also charged in relation to this incident earlier this week. He has been dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 1992.

Investigations are continuing.
