Pigs still flying
A GREAT headline never dies.
The 30,000 pigs lost down the Dawson from the 2011 floods is a corker (or should we say porker) of a header that has again reared its 120,000 trotters in the media.
For anyone who hasn't heard the story, a farmer told a Bully reporter over the phone that he had lost "30 sows and pigs" in the floods.
The reporter thought he heard "30,000 pigs" and the rest is history - including the correction.
Well, not quite as the ABC TV comedy Lowdown used the infamous line in its Thursday episode
Adam Zwar, playing Sunday Star journalist Alex Burchill, was grilled by his editor for not checking on his facts.
He explained it was hard to hear "Barnaby" over the rain.
