Pets in howl-o-ween

Chilli the sheltie as Dracula.

WHILE many people were busy dusting the cobwebs from last year's Halloween costumes, the Coast's dogs and cats got an early start on the celebrations.

Feisty felines and proud pooches battled it out at Best Friends Pet Care, Minyama, in a series of Howl-o-ween pet parades.

Proud owners dressed their pets to look the part and competed for cash prizes, vouchers and treats.

The day was not all about giving our four-legged friends a taste of Halloween however, kids also had a ball with face painting and a jumping castle.

There was also a serious side to the event, with a fund raising barbecue raising money for animal welfare groups.
