Perth confident to take on Blue Sox after sudden-death win

AFTER surviving a sudden-death series against Melbourne last weekend to scrape into the finals, early-season favourites Perth will travel to Sydney to take on the Blue Sox in a three-game preliminary finals series starting on Friday.

The teams played two four-game series this season, with the score being 2-all each time.

While Sydney has been in good form recently, the Heat, which has won the last two ABL titles, had not won a four-game series since early December before sweeping Melbourne.

Despite that, star Perth batter Corey Adamson said he was confident the Heat could beat Sydney to earn a place in the grand final against Canberra in the national capital the following week.

"We hit Sydney well this year. Last time we weren't in our best form against them, but with the team we have now and the momentum that we have, I'm happy to face anyone,"Adamson said.

Perth coach Steve Fish said how his batters handled the Blue Sox pitchers would be the key.

"It's going to be a good test, Sydney have a good pitching staff and they're going to come at us," he said.
