Personal saga set to hit shelves
REGENCY Downs resident Laurie McNally, a man with a story to tell, is putting the finishing touches to his autobiography.
Mr McNally's book begins with his father's arrival in Australia in 1950 and his efforts to prepare a home in bushland west of Sydney for his family, still back in England.
In the style of Albert Facey's A Fortunate Life, Mr McNally tells of the highs and lows of his own sometimes harsh life as he travels Australia working at a variety of jobs, eventually finding his niche in the mines of Western Australia and Tasmania.
The book is being edited and prepared for publication by Andrea Kwast of Laidley's Tell Me A Story bookshop.
"I think we're on a winner with Mr McNally's book," Ms Kwast said.
"He has the happy knack of telling it like it is."
