Permitted burn under the watch of fire services

A FIRE burning near Highfields this morning is a permitted burn that is under the watch of the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service.

The fire, which is visible from the New England Highway, has been burning since early this morning.

It is expected to continue burning for much of today.

The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service has a truck at the scene to keep the fire under control.
