Patriots shoot down Texans to secure spot in AFC playoff

NEW England will go into Sunday's AFC Championship playoff against Baltimore without Pro Bowl tight-end Rob Gronkowski after he sustained a serious arm injury in yesterday's 41-28 win over Houston.

In the NFL Championship match, also on Sunday, Atlanta, which converted a 47-yard field goal with eight seconds on the clock to down Seattle 30-28, will host San Francisco which beat Green Bay 45-31.
