IT was a successful night for the South Burnett Parkinson's Support Group.

About 30 people showed up for the group's first interest meeting held at the South Burnett Private Hospital at Kingaroy.

Co-ordinator Maree Millard said she and fellow co-ordinator Grace Winiecki now had to find a larger meeting room due to the overwhelming response.

"We were expecting about 20 people, but about 30 people turned up," Ms Millard said.

"We were absolutely over the moon about the response."

The group aims to provide support for people who have Parkinson's Disease and those who are impacted by a person who has the condition, including carers, family and friends.

At the meeting, Kingaroy Hospital physiotherapist Rebecca Andrews talked about the prevention of falls.
