UPDATE: An overturned semi-trailer caused headaches for Warrego Hwy commuters yesterday, with both west-bound lanes closed for most of the day.

The semi-trailer, which was carrying empty plastic crates, ran off the edge of the road and flipped onto its side near the Haigslea-Malabar Rd turnoff about 10am.

The driver escaped with minor injuries and no other vehicles were caught up in the crash.

Police closed off a 1km section of the highway, diverting west-bound traffic up one of the east-bound lanes.

The truck was eventually towed away and the highway was fully reopened about 4.15pm.

EARLIER: For the second day in a row, traffic on the Warrego Hwy has been brought to a stand-still after a traffic crash.

A truck overturned near on the Toowoomba-bound lanes near the Haigslea-Malabar Rd intersection about 10am.

One lane west-bound was closed at first but traffic flow halted after both lanes were closed to right the truck and tow it away.

The truck crash was near an incident on Sunday when a car towing a caravan jack-knifed on the Ipswich-bound side of the highway and blocked traffic.
