The Social Networking craze of posting, poking, kikking and tweeting in chat-rooms, virtual worlds and blogs has become part of our daily lives with an estimated 9.9 million Australians using online services to stay in touch with friends, make new friends or business connections, share information and opinions about topics and list events.

Social networking incorporates the online services that provide users with sites that facilitate the building of social networks. There are a variety of platforms with features that allow individuals to construct a public profile, view their list of connections, upload pictures, add multi-media content, modify the look of the profile, post blog entries, create groups and hold discussions/forums.

Social media is a powerful communication tool and there are many benefits of using social networking sites but there are also some dangers associated with it.
