GAYNDAH Fire Brigade is the proud owner of a brand new truck.

The 423 Alpha is a replacement for one of the station's two fire trucks.

The new truck is more powerful and better equipped than the 10-year-old vehicle it replaced.

Worth more than $250,000, acting area commander Steve McLaren said the truck will bring Gayndah up to date with today's technology.

"This is an upgrade for the area," he said.

"The new cutting gear and better pumps are lightweight and user friendly."

With the Wildfire Alert upgraded to level 2 and fires blazing around the region, the new truck will make our firefighters' duties more manageable.
