COUNTRY music trio The McClymonts returned to where their careers began, kicking off their national tour at the Gympie Muster last night.

The three sisters from Grafton currently split their time between Australia and the US, where they toured last year and worked on their new album Two Worlds Collide in country music capital Nashville.

"It's always great to come home and tour," said eldest sister Brooke, who is currently expecting her first child with husband Adam Eckersley.

"This is our first tour for Two Worlds Collide, and this is our first show. We're really looking forward to playing new material. It's exciting to have new material."

Being pregnant while on tour is a new experience for Brooke, but it didn't seem to slow her down on stage last night.

She joked around with the crowd that she'd "swallowed a watermelon seed" before launching into an energetic 75-minute set.

The trio played a handful of songs from their new album Two Worlds Collide, and closed their show with crowd favourites Kick It Up, Wrapped Up Good and a cover of The Eagles' Heartache Tonight.
