Man uses car as a weapon

A LOWOOD man attempted to run down another man at Roadvale this morning according to police.

Police allege the 27-year-old man attempted to run over a Roadvale resident outside his own at 4am this morning.

The man managed to leap out of the way of the four-wheel-drive which crashed into another car pushing it into the rear wall of a garage.

Police then allege a fight then broke out between the two men, in which the Roadvale man sustained injuries to his hands and face.

He was taken to the Ipswich Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The 27-year-old Lowood man has been charged acts with intended to cause grievous bodily harm, dangerous operation of a vehicle, assault occasioning bodily harm and wilful damage.

He will appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday.
