POLICE have arrested and charged a 32-year-old Redbank Plains man following his alleged attempts to use a fake $100 note at a Goodna bottle shop.
The man will be accused of presenting the bill while trying to purchase a bottle of spirits from the Weeroona Liquor Barn, about 12.30pm on New Year's Day.
As reported in the QT yesterday, the shop attendant recognised the bill as an obvious fake and refused to accept it, notifying police.
Sergeant Ian Stephens of Goodna police station said a man was arrested later on New Year's Day and charged with two counts of burglary, possessing dangerous drugs, failure to dispose of a syringe and one count each of possessing counterfeit money and using counterfeit money.
He was bailed to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on January 23. Police are still investigating a similar offence at Jets Leagues Club on New Year's Eve.
