Man charged after failed store robbery

A MAN will face court today charged with the attempted armed robbery of a Redbank Plains convenience store.

Police say the 29-year-old Macleay Island man entered the store on Redbank Plains Rd about 11pm Wednesday, telling the attendant he had a gun while demanding cash.

The attendant refused to comply and the would-be robber left empty handed.

The man will appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on Thursday.
