No bail for man accused of raping his half-sister

A MAN has been charged with the rape of his half-sister in an Ipswich home.

Police said the 18-year-old accused, from Burpengary in Brisbane's north, was staying with relatives at Tivoli with the victim - a 15-year-old girl.

It is alleged that the girl was threatened with a knife during the assault, which police said occurred late Tuesday.

The incident was reported to police the next day, and the man was subsequently charged with one count of rape.

He appeared in Ipswich Magistrates Court yesterday, where he was refused bail.

The case was adjourned to February 20.
