Cairns arrest in relation to armed raid at Ipswich servo

A MAN allegedly involved in the armed robbery of an Ipswich service station in October has been arrested in the state's far north.

Cairns detectives charged a 20-year-old North Ipswich man on Thursday with one count of armed robbery.

It is alleged the man robbed the Caltex service station at Warwick Road, Ipswich about 1am on October 16.

Two masked robbers armed themselves with knives before entering the shop area, threatening an employee before stealing money and cigarettes.

The accused will face Cairns Magistrates Court today, Friday December 28.
