Major losses at Mundubbera

THERE are reports of 400 dairy cows and a whole piggery lost from Mundubbera.

The owners have been taken to hospital after their home and all dairy infrastructure was swept away yesterday.

The river peaked at 22.9m in Mundubbera at 1am this morning.

The evacuation centre is busy and the community is pulling together.

Three small helicopters are now checking on other outlying residents.

There is currently no phone coverage in the town.

Ergon was able to restore more than 600 customers yesterday in the Mundubbera / Eidsvold area, although a further 1,459 customers remain without supply. Flood water levels depending, it could be restored by late Tuesday.
