THE cameras have almost begun rolling for local film maker Shane Anderson ahead of his upcoming movie titled Carols.

The romantic Christmas comedy, which will be filmed in various locations throughout Logan and Chelmer, is set to begin filming in January.

But before he takes his place in the director's chair, Mr Anderson has been busily preparing for his upcoming gala night on Saturday, December 8 in a bid to help raise funds for the movie.

"We will be hosting a fun filled evening showcasing some local talent and stars of the movie," he said.

"The night is called Gala of Galas, The Gala, and will be held at the Ukrainian Community Centre in South Brisbane.

"There will be a theatre and song performances as well as some original Christmas songs which will feature in the upcoming movie.

"In addition, there will also be a live band that will be playing on the night, a photo booth and raffles.

"We are hoping to raise close to $1000 which will go towards making the movie."

Finger food will be available on the night as well as drinks, which can be purchased from the bar.

Tickets are $15 each for pre-booked or $20 at the door.

The Gala of Galas, The Gala, will be held on Saturday, December 8 at the Ukrainian Community Centre, which is located at 70 Cordelia St, South Brisbane.

Doors open at 7pm.
