Graduates ready for work
MORE than 100 people graduated from their courses at Cherbourg's Nurunderi TAFE today.
About 90 family, friends and teachers supported the graduates.
Elizabeth Kennell has completed her Diploma of Counselling after more than two years.
She said it was "a wonderful feeling" to graduate.
"I will now go on to work with children and families who have witnessed domestic violence," Ms Kennell said.
"I've worked with the child safety department for seven years and it's my passion to keep children safe."
Another Diploma of Counselling graduate Cindy Langdon said she had always felt counselling was her calling.
"I've always worked with people and I have always interacted well with people," she said.
"I'll be going on to do a degree in counselling and then I'm thinking of doing a doctorate.
"I left school when I was 16 and (going to TAFE) has set my want of learning on fire."
