Lady Gaga claims virus caused her to spew on stage

IT LOOKS like Mother Monster has caught the Bieber bug.

Pop singer Lady Gaga followed in Justin Bieber's footsteps and vomited several times on stage while performing in Spain for a stop on her Born This Way Ball world tour this weekend.

In video footage posted online, the 26-year-old singer can be seen strutting down a set of stairs to the sound of her hit Edge of Glory.

She then turns her back to the crowd and loses her lunch at least four times while the backup vocals continue to play.

Ever the pro, Gaga doesn't miss a beat and finishes the routine with a scantily-clad male dancer (who deserves kudos for trying his darndest to shield her during the up-chuck) by her side.

Gaga poked fun at herself later on Twitter.

"Was praying nobody saw but actually its quite a good laugh if u need one! Check out Lady PukeGA doing Swan 'Vomit' Lake," she wrote, while linking to a video of the incident.

She also patted herself on the back for carrying on with the show: "I still hit my routine mom!! :)," she tweeted.

"Thank goodness for the Dorchester...i need some tea ,i think i just cried a little watching that."

Scandal sheet TMZ, citing sources close to the singer, claimed that Gaga was "suffering from the flu" but didn't want to cancel the show.

It's not the first time Gaga has fallen ill during a concert. The singer bolted it off stage to throw up during a gig in Romania back in August.

When she returned to the stage, she told the audience: "I went backstage and vomited, and I did not want you to see this... It happens to me sometimes."

Last week, the Biebs yakked on stage while performing in Arizona during his Believe tour kickoff.

While performing Out of Town Girl the singer turned his back to the crowd, hunched over and threw up on stage, as seen in a video on TMZ.

He blamed the incident on milk.

"Great show. Getting better for tomorrow's show!!!! Love u... And... Milk was a bad choice! LOL," he wrote on Twitter.
