Killed biker had Honda for less than week
A MOTORCYCLIST killed on Wednesday after the bike he was riding and a delivery truck collided had owned the bike for less than a week.
The collision was at the intersection of Endeavour Rd and Verrall St in Riverview.
Initial reports said the bike turned right out of Verrall St, but it now appears it went straight ahead and fell on its side after the rider braked heavily and lost control.
The bike, a 1000cc Honda RR, and the rider, who was in his 40s, then went under the truck's wheels.
Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics arrived, but the motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ipswich police Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Police said yesterday the man's family requested that his name not be made public.
A man who lives near the crash site said action needed to be taken to make it safer.
"They've got to do something about this intersection.
"There's been a lot of crashes here already," he told The Queensland Times.
