AMERICAN Idol judge Keith Urban has worn a T-shirt promoting Kiwi musician Ladyhawke on national TV in the US.

The US country singer wore the shirt while judging an Idol elimination show watched by more than 11.5 million people last week.

It was designed by Sarah Larnach for Ladyhawke's latest album Anxiety and prominently features the artist's name.

Ladyhawke, whose real name is Pip Brown, happily posted a photo of Urban wearing the shirt on her Instagram account.

Anxiety, the follow up to Ladyhawke's acclaimed self-titled debut album, was released in March last year.

Brown has started recording on a new, as-yet untitled, new album.
