THE crowd at the Goodna Jacaranda Festival partied under the "purple umbrellas" in Evan Margison Park over the weekend.

Councillor Paul Tully said hundreds of people turned out for the event, which included rides, entertainment and a fun run.

"The run was popular this year, which was great," Cr Tully said.

Entertainment was provided by a range of acts, including Adil Memon, Lucy the Cattle Dog, local bands and dance troupes.

Cr Tully said many people commented on the brilliance of the jacaranda trees. "The festival marked 80 years since the trees were planted," he said.
