Ipswich to get first look at new Globemaster

IPSWICH will get the first sight of the latest addition to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) on Thursday morning.

The sixth C-17A Globemaster transport aircraft will depart RAAF Base Amberley about 8.15am and appear over Brisbane's South Bank at 8.19am.

It will then fly south along the coastline, appearing off the Gold Coast about 8.31am 300m above the water.

The aircraft will return to Amberley by 8.55am, conducting an "initial and pitch'' over the runway at 150m altitude.
