Ipswich diesel is cheapest in Queensland, says RACQ
IPSWICH was the cheapest place in the state to buy diesel last month, according to the RACQ.
The latest fuel price report from the RACQ revealed the average price of diesel in Ipswich was 149.9 cents per litre, 1.8 cents less than in Brisbane.
Despite the low price of diesel, RACQ media manager Joe Fitzgerald said fuel remained overpriced across Queensland.
"We should have seen cheaper ULP and diesel prices on the back of falling oil prices, but the savings were swallowed up by the refiners, wholesalers and retailers who took the opportunity to fatten their margins," he said.
Ipswich unleaded was 145.9c per litre, 0.4 cents more than in Brisbane, the survey said.
Outside Ipswich diesel was cheapest in the north, averaging 150c in the Whitsundays, 150.4c in Townsville and 150.7c in Ayr.
