"CHRISTMAS is not a health warning."

With this war cry,  medico Shaun Rudd said it was time to push back against the wowsers and doomsday merchants looking to kill our Christmas joy and lower our festive kilojoule count.

"Christmas has been hijacked by the do-gooders," Dr Rudd said.

"All this talk about don't eat this and don't eat that - it's over the top.

"Have a drink, enjoy eating a bit too much and enjoy the family.

"Blowing off a bit of steam and over indulging slightly every so often will help you de-stress."

Dr Rudd's recipe for Christmas

  • Roast turkey
  • Ham
  • Roast potatoes
  • Brussels sprouts
  • Pudding
  • Shiraz
  • Baileys on ice
