'I wish the Queen had died': Frankie Boyle joke irks BBC

JOKES made by Frankie Boyle about the Duchess of Cambridge and the Queen during a Comic Relief gig have proven too much for the BBC.

Gags about the Royal Family, the Jimmy Savile scandal and Oscar Pistorius were pulled from a BBC3 broadcast of Give It Up for Comic Relief- an event to raise awareness of drug and alcohol addiction.

Speaking about the Queen's recent hospitalisation, the comic said: "I wish she'd died- because they wouldn't have been able to tell anyone. They would have had to hollow out her body into a suit and fill it with helium."

Boyle was reportedly booed on stage for his jokes about the Royal Family, including criticising the Duchess of Cambridge's breasts and claims that he fathered her child.

"I was amazed to hear Kate ever got pregnant in the first place. She told me she was on the f***ing pill," he said.

The Sun columnist continued: "I don't know what the fuss was about the pictures of Kate's tits. Anyway, in my paper I have to flick past pictures of good tits to read about her shit ones."

Boyle continued in bad taste with a reference to the Savile scandal: "I think the BBC made Jimmy Savile wear that jewellery so children could hear him coming…I had thought the only way I'd end up back on the BBC would be if I started f***ing kids."

His comments about the Pope and Oscar Pistorius were also omitted from the broadcast, which ran with a two and a half hour time delay. Jack Whitehall's set was cut from the final televised show as well due to time constraints.

A spokesman for the BBC said: "It was an extremely tight edit of a three and a half hour show down to 90 minutes and not every act or performance made the final broadcast."

After the live show of Give It Up for Comic Relief, Boyle tweeted: "Was a nice gig at Wembley, and big up Russell Brand- a shot in the arms for addicts everywhere."

In 2010 Ofcom received 469 complaints when the comedian cracked jokes about cancer victims, saying: "What is it about people with cancer that suddenly think they can run the f***ing marathon?"

In the same year Katie Price criticised the comedian publicly after he made jokes about her 10-year-old son Harvey, who suffers from severe autism and visually impairment.
