A YEAR of humiliating public spats didn't stop Playboy king Hugh Hefner from saying "I do" to his 26-year-old girlfriend Crystal Harris.

The 86-year-old wed the young blonde bombshell in front of a small crowd before his annual star studded New Year's Eve party kicked off at the Playboy Mansion.

Harris made headlines in June, 2011 when she got cold feet five days before the original ceremony was expected to take place.

In the months that followed, she canned Hugh's sexual performance on late night talk shows while he responded with jibes like he "missed a bullet" when she called off the wedding.

The pair reconciled in late 2012.

Posting a picture of herself in a pink mermaid dress Harris tweeted "Today is the day I become Mrs Hugh Hefner. Feeling very happy, lucky, and blessed".

Harris first moved into the mansion as a "Playmate" when she was 21.

She is Hefner's third wife.
