Highfields regains share of RBL lead
HIGHFIELDS has regained a share of the competition lead after round three of the Regional Basketball League at Downlands College at the weekend.
With Mountaineers shooting guard James Legan suiting up on Saturday, Highfields was in fine touch and recorded three wins for the round.
But even without their star import on Sunday, the Highfields young guns showed plenty of skill to record a 61-58 triumph over Bundaberg 2 and leapfrog them into second place.
It was a much improved effort from Toowoomba which also finished the round with three wins including a 49-40 victory over Bundaberg 2.
But Toowoomba couldn't better its position on the ladder and is still clinging to a finals berth in fourth on percentage.
The congested top four sets up an exciting final round at Downlands College on December 1-2.
Meanwhile, Dalby is assured of a place in the women's grand final after suffering just its second loss of the season against Highfields at the weekend.
And the Warwick Wildcats scraped past second-placed Tenterfield 38-36 to keep their unbeaten streak alive in the reserves.
