Haly St set for a makeover
DAMAGED suspension and shredded tyres.
They may be a concern of the past for Kingaroy drivers.
There will be some temporary lane closures as work begins on Haly St on Monday.
The work should take about seven weeks, weather permitting.
A Transport and Main Roads spokeswoman said the works would include repairing the road and concreting median islands.
"It also gives us the chance to remove the old, unused railway crossing near Kingaroy St," she said.
"And a bitumen seal will be applied to this section, making a smoother ride for motorists."
The spokeswoman said every effort would be made to minimise the impacts during peak traffic times.
"Work hours will generally be Monday to Friday between 6am and 6pm," she said.
"And traffic controllers will be in place to assist motorists with changed traffic conditions.
"Motorists are asked to be patient, drive to the changed conditions and obey all signage."
To reduce disruption to residents and businesses the works at the T-intersection of Kingaroy and Haly Streets will be completed during weekends.
Detours will be in place to direct traffic around the works as side streets onto Haly St will have to be closed as works are being conducted. A letterbox drop advising people in Haly St and surrounding areas of the works will be sent early next week.
