Grocery giant backs bilby cause
BILBY man Frank Manthey is looking forward to talking to grocery giant Coles about funding to support the endangered species.
As the QT reported on Thursday, Mr Manthey's Save the Bilby Fund took a financial hit after chocolate maker Darrell Lea went into receivership.
But a spokeswoman for Coles said the company was open to the idea of supporting the fund.
Majella Clarke said it hoped to talk with the animal lover soon.
"We would welcome contact from Frank and the Save the Bilby Fund, as the fund has done a fantastic job in raising awareness and protecting the Bilby populations from extinction," Ms Clarke said.
The new owners of Darrell Lea, are also expected to make a decision on the funding shortly.
