Grass fire in South Ripley

TWELVE fire crews are monitoring a large grass fire burning in inaccessible land in South Ripley.

The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service advised the fire, burning near Tully Road and Ripley Road, was burning safely within containment lines at 11am this morning.

QFRS said the resulting smoke haze would affect Ripley residents.

Residents with respiratory illnesses should close windows and doors, and motorists should drive carefully.

The fire started on Thursday and poses no threat to property, QFRS said.
