THIS is one spray paint job these car owners didn't ask for.

Vandals have wreaked havoc in West Ipswich, scrawling obscene graffiti across cars and walls.

Two vehicles parked at Home HQ Ipswich were "tagged" with blue spray paint on Thursday evening.

Other items around the centre such as industrial bins, walls and the road were sprayed as well.

The incident is believed to have taken place between 6.30pm and 9pm.

Ipswich police are investigating the incident after it was reported via Policelink.

The graffiti attack followed on from a similar incident last week where a teen was apprehended for vandalising a council truck parked in Bell St with a nico pen.

Ipswich police acting Senior Sergeant Leon Margetts said graffiti offences occurred from time to time but that security cameras in the city were always watching.

As a result, he said most graffiti vandals were caught quite quickly, on some occasions while the offence was being committed.

He said anyone with information which could assist with this matter should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously via 1800 333 000 or phone Ipswich police on 3437 2777.
