First Bachelorette evictee could have been The Bachelor

THE first evictee from The Bachelorette, Dale Brown, was a candidate for The Bachelor.

The Brisbane-based personal trainer was one of two bachelors who didn't receive a rose from Georgia Love in tonight's first episode of the reality dating show's second season.

"For me it started all the way back with The Bachelor," Mr Brown told APN.

"I did a couple of auditions for that. Then they called me back and said I should apply for this, and here we are today."

The 29-year-old presented Ms Love with a lavender rose to ensure she received a flower, as well as handing them out.

"She hands out roses but she doesn't get one in return. I thought it would be something nice," he said.

"The lavender rose means love at first sight.

"She's a lovely girl, but obviously it just wasn't meant to be (with me)."

Tonight's other unlucky Bachelor was overly confident stripper turned 'business mogul' Carlos Fang, who presented Ms Love with a Tiffany bracelet.

"He seemed all right and pretty switched-on. I thought he was a great guy, as were most of the guys," he said.

"I think you'll find the difference with the women on The Bachelor and us is we're all mates. No one wants to tread on each others' toes. We created a gentleman's code."

Ms Love tripped on her way into last night's cocktail party, but Mr Brown said all of the bachelors were impressed with her recovery and sense of humour.

"She didn't spill her drink so bonus points there; that was very Aussie," he said.

Despite his chiselled physique and kind-hearted nature Mr Brown said he is still single.

"I don't drink or go out, so I think that's part of it," he said. "I'm not going to force it; if it happens then it happens."

The Bachelorette continues tomorrow at 7.30pm on Channel 10.
