Firefighters contain grassfire at Cootharaba

FIREFIGHTERS have contained a large grassfire burning at Cootharaba, near Pomona.

Fifteen crews responded to the fire, which was believed to have started along Louis Bazzo Dr about 12.30pm.

Crews have now contained the blaze on all sides.

SES and Police crews blocked access to the fire at Junction and Boronia Rds, which have not been reopened.

Department of Community Safety has confirmed there are homes in the vicinity of the fire, but could not confirm if there were any under threat.
