MANICURES, baths and brushing are part of the pre-show routine for guinea pigs in Ipswich Cavy Club shows.

Fergie's long hair was tamed by owner Maree Alchin this week, ahead of the club's twilight show tomorrow.

"I've got eight pets and three pedigrees in the show," Ms Alchin said.

Ms Alchin, club promotions officer, said the club encouraged good guinea pig husbandry.

The club will host a silent auction from 1pm tomorrow, followed by shows from 5pm at the Bethany Hall, 86 Raceview St, Raceview.
