Victim received horrific injuries
TWO Ipswich women who unleashed a vicious and unprovoked attack on another woman inside an Ipswich nightclub leaving horrific injuries have faced court.
Cousins Amanda Jane Tattam, 31, and Courtnii Francis Jane Tattam, 19, were partying at Cocktails Nightclub when, for no apparent reason, they started punching another reveller on the dance floor.
Courtnii Tattam led the assault inside the club, bashing and stomping on the victim repeatedly, before the terrified woman fled.
As the victim tried to escape, the pair chased her out onto Brisbane St, where Amanda Tattam smashed the woman's face into the bitumen, knocking out five of her teeth.
CCTV footage screened at Ipswich District Court showed a pack of people racing from the club and Amanda Tattam raising the victim's head and then slamming it to the ground.
Shortly afterwards, Courtnii sent the victim's boyfriend a message on Facebook, bragging about the attack.
The victim suffered severe physical injuries as a result of the attack, and has since suffered extreme financial and emotional stress as a result of having to repair her teeth, the court heard.
Courtnii's defence said she normally didn't drink and had consumed too much alcohol on the night of the attack. Amanda's defence said she had little recollection of the assault.
Amanda, who was on parole after serving a short sentence for 35 offences, including escaping from jail, committed the offence only six weeks after being released from jail.
Both pleaded guilty to assault occasioning bodily harm in company.
Amanda Tattam, a mother of four, was sentenced to 18 months jail, but will be eligible to apply for parole on February 7.
Courtnii Tattam was sentenced to 18 months jail and released on immediate parole.
