A FLUFFY and fabulous Karana Downs dog quickly developed his own fan club at The Ekka.

Aussie the Keeshond stole the limelight in the dog pavilion as animal lovers were wowed by his ability to high-five on command.

Combined with his fluffy mane and tail and friendly demeanour, the unusual talent earned him dozens of new friends.

Owner Meryl Davison, of Kabander Keeshonds, said Aussie had also shown his prowess in the ring.

"He was judged runner up in his breed," Ms Davison said.

"I'm happy. He's still the top Keeshond in Queensland and is second in the country."

Ms Davison said Aussie, show name Supreme Champion Kabander Dare Devil, had not been able to beat his New South Wales rival this time.

"He's a supreme champion at three years old. He's a great dog and he's very lovable," she said.
