WHEN American television host Ellen DeGeneres announced she would be coming down under to record segments for her show next month, Heritage Park resident Jacqui Ryan was extremely excited.

A big fan of the show, Miss Ryan instantly began thinking of ways in which she could meet one of the biggest names in TV.

With the help of her sister-in-law, the 28-year-old singer has launched a campaign on Facebook to grab the attention of Ellen's producers in the hope of being asked to perform for her while she is in Australia.

Miss Ryan said to sing in front of Ellen would be a dream come true.

"I really like Ellen, I think she is hilarious," she said.

I know it's a bit of a long shot, but I would really like to think it could be possible to perform as part of her show.

"And I think it would be wonderful to show her some independent Australian talent.

"If I am lucky enough, I would like to perform one of my own, original songs.

"To be a part of her show would be the icing on a very, very long singing career's cake."

Just before Ellen arrives in Australia, Miss Ryan plans to notify the show's producers showing them all the support she has received.
