Eighth Mile series revs up at Willowbank Raceway

Friday night drifters will be getting ready for the Australia's biggest drift festival Drift Matsuri.

THIS weekend features more 1/8th mile racing, with the final of the JP Racing Eighth Mile Series at Willowbank Raceway after rounds at Warwick, Benaraby and Ironbark.

I can't wait to watch army vet Josh Pile, who is leading the point standings, to see if he can take home the win in his first full racing season.

The track has also decided to add in a 4x4 themed test n tune next Wednesday night after the popularity of their Diesel Assault nights. This is the chance to bring any 4x4 to the track, whether it is diesel or petrol.

Tonight, everyone will be gearing up at the Friday Night Drifts for the big Spring Drift Matsuri on October 8 and 9. A few competitors will be putting together their challengers and getting ready for the big event in a few weeks. It will be awesome to check out.

Saturday should be a big day with Mopar Mayhem and rolling racing during the night.

I can't wait for Mopar Mayhem with all the American muscle cars.

There's going to be burnouts, roll racing and cruises.

Hopefully a few of the mean-looking muscle cars for Mopar Mayhem will stick around for the night and really put on a show.

What a beautiful day last Saturday for the sixth round of the Queensland Drag Racing Championship and Kenda Tires 660 Drag Radial series.

More than 200 racers were involved, including 65 competing in the popular drag radial.

It was an exciting day, which included a father-son final for the QDRC Outlaws.

Maybe one day I will get to drag race my own son at the track.

My kids were interested in watching all the racing, especially Junior Dragster which they can't wait to get involved in.

However the highlight of the day would have been seeing DBS racing on track with Bumble Bee and the Wheelstander.
