Early morning robber strikes

POLICE are investigating the armed robbery of a service station at Ebbw Vale in the early hours of Thursday morning.

A man entered the Freedom Fuels service station on Brisbane Rd about 2.18am, armed with a 70cm-long stick.

The offender threatened the attendant - telling him that he also had a knife - before instructing him to hand over money.

The attendant handed over an undisclosed sum of cash and the offender fled on foot.

He was last seen running west along Brisbane Rd.

The offender was described as Pacific Islander appearance, about 180cm tall, with a slim build.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
