IPSWICH police uncovered more than $20,000 in cash and quantities of heroin during two days of drug raids this week.

Investigations by the Ipswich CIB as part of Operation Mike Mosa concluded with police from the Tactical Crime Squad and Tactical Operations Group raiding 13 properties on Wednesday and Thursday.

The raids netted cash, heroin, cannabis, as well as 17 people who will face a combined total of 99 charges.

Ipswich CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Heath McQueen said heroin was not as prevalent in the community as ice at the moment.

The drug is still of serious concern to police, however, because of the criminal activity associated with people who are addicted to it.

In addition to raiding homes accross Ipswich, The Ipswich CIB-led operation also resulted in the execution of search warrants in the Brisbane suburbs of Acacia Ridge and Moorooka.
