Driver banned from hitting the road until 2024

A SERIAL traffic offender has been banned from the road till 2024 after he was caught driving while disqualified for the seventh time.

At Ipswich Magistrates Court Ghazwn Abdullah Nasir pleaded guilty to driving without a licence while disqualified by a court order.

Police prosecutor Steve De Lissa said the 22-year-old was pulled over by police in Gailes on September 15.

It was later revealed Nasir, from Syria, didn't have a Queensland licence and had six prior convictions for disqualified driving.

Nasir was banned from driving for two more years, on top of an existing eight-year disqualification.

He was also sentenced to three months in jail, which was suspended for 19 months.
