Driver sustains serious injuries
A 74-YEAR-OLD man was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash at Thagoona, west of Ipswich.
Police believe the small hatchback the man was driving on Karrabin-Rosewood Rd veered onto the incorrect side and side-swiped a utility travelling in the opposite direction.
Both vehicles kept rolling for several metres after the heavy impact, which happened about 1.30pm yesterday.
The man's vehicle was left with serious damage and he had to be cut free by firefighters with hydraulic equipment.
He was treated for serious arm injuries and was later airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
The driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries.
Both lanes of Karrabin-Rosewood Rd had to be closed for several hours while debris was cleared.
Police are investigating.
